I just upgraded my Vibe Streamer skin and embedded music search capability too.

I also customized my WordPress sidebar so that it contains faux-Permalinks, with my first direct link to my Vibe Streamer.

It’s a nice skin and further modified some of it so that it pops up nicely in its own window without any browser bars, so it looks like it’s its own player application.
To install the basic skin:
- shut down the vibe server, if running
- make a backup of your Standard skin (found in the Vibe Streamer program folder)
- place the new skin files into the Standard folder
- <if you want to have the MSN Messenger “Now Playing…” option updated with Vibe Streamer, follow the ReadMe text file or PDF in the new skin’s bin folder>
- clear your cache within your browser
- load up the Vibe Server
- log in to your Vibe Streamer URL.

It’s not obvious what to do but follow these steps to install:
- overwrite left.html found in your Standard skin folder with the one in this package
- place the performsearch.vibe file into the Standard skin folder
- place the executable file in the main Vibe Streamer program directory, every time that you index your music library, execute this too.
(I made a shortcut to the file on my desktop for ease of use)
You will notice a new tab on the left panel called Search, and when clicked it will load up a simple search field.
When you search for something, the results listing come up nicely in the right hand frame. 
Smart & simple!

I couldn’t get the search tool to work
It shows the search box but whenever i search nothing happens any suggestions?
Did you manage to restart your system and then actually run the indexer program that it came with to index all of the music?
I have set up on my windows scheduler to run the indexer every 30 minutes.
Works for me.
And someone on the VibeStreamer Forums had the same problem but they managed to do a restart and then it worked perfectly for them.

I’m sorry I no longer use Vibe Server, I am now using WinAmp, Simplify Media, AirFoil and iTunes (only on my mac) … I can access all of my music wherever I go – even with my iPhone!

Sorry, I’ve been on hiatus for the past while .. unfortunately I have converted my server over to Ubuntu and no-longer have VibeStreamer or even Windows installed any more. I use Simplify Media, it connects my winamp, itunes, wmplayer and rhythmbox players to my music database. Go check it out!
