I'm in marketing, hiring marketing students actually - and the #1 example they bring me for good marketing is the Dove campaign. I counter back with two questions as devil's advocate - does it sell soap? and how can it be a solid message when also in the Unilever family are Slimfast and Axe deodorant spray? It's interesting hearing them explain - I'm torn between liking the message behind the campaign itself and hating the manipulation overall.
